The Albert Szent-Györgyi Prize for Progress in Cancer Research was established to recognize an individual who has provided vision, scientific understanding, and leadership in the advancement of cancer research, as nominated by his or her peers. Recipients will have made discoveries resulting in, or leading toward, notable contributions to cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

Recipients will be recognized and featured in major public media and press, national Prize designations, and ceremonies of the NFCR, an international charity supported by more than 3.2 million donors including hundreds of private foundations and corporations.
